The Health and Safety Plan for the project to finish the Isla de Corfú park in the La Torreta-PAU2 neighbourhood was approved by the Alicante City Council on Tuesday, January 13th, in the Local Governing Board. This is the final step that will enable the winning company, Imesapi SA, to begin work on the project, which will cost 3,369,956 euros and take six months to complete.
The project aims to finish this more than 20,000 square metre green area between Deportista Isabelò and Isla de Corfú avenues. A stage with tiered seating, three kid-friendly play areas with a 28-metre zip line and modified play equipment, nine large slides that kids can playfully navigate the various levels, a sports area with callisthenics, an outdoor fitness circuit, petanque courts, and a climbing wall, as well as green spaces with hedges and trees, rest areas, and shaded areas, will all be included in this expansive park.
Games and sports for people of all ages
The park is intended to be a sizable green area with several levels and spaces for recreation, sports, and leisure. There will be shaded spots and spots with street furniture for relaxation and enjoyment scattered around the park. The most noteworthy aspect of this new park in Alicante, however, is the wide range of sporting and recreational facilities it will provide, including a stage with tiers of seats for various outdoor events.
Three kid-friendly play spaces will be included in the new green area, along with inclusive play features like accessible swings, sound and touch panels, and walkways for those with limited mobility. Additionally, it will feature nine slides and a 28-metre zip line situated on the hills that divide the park’s terraces, providing a different path especially made for young children. These slides provide a delightful transition between the various terrain levels and link the top viewpoint with the rounded gravel pit where the zip line is situated. They also provide a whimsical element to the park’s plan.
Additionally, along the edges of the slides, climbing ropes will be positioned parallel to the slopes so that users can climb them to mount the inclines. In addition to providing a lively and enjoyable alternative within the park, this solution promotes interactive play and physical activity, enhancing the tourist experience and encouraging participation for individuals of all ages and abilities.
The sporting facilities make up a sizable portion of the park, which is intended for senior citizens. These are situated at the southwest entrances, but they are easily connected to the play spaces, allowing people of all ages to wander about and engage with one another. The amenities, which encourage a healthy lifestyle among guests, include a climbing wall, pétanque courts, an outdoor workout circuit, a callisthenics area, and more.
The park’s tree and hedge plantings are arranged in a way that emphasises the variety of the areas by grouping the species based on colour, flowering season, and compatibility. In order to create a dynamic and visually rich atmosphere all year round, the garden is designed to provide a continuously shifting visual experience, with each region being distinguished by a predominant colour during its bloom.
