On January 16th and 18th, a thief broke into the same pub on Avenida de Madrid in Benidorm and stole the cash register, various alcoholic beverages, and cans of pop. On the second day, he returned twenty minutes later to steal more drinks, as evidenced by National Police camera footage of a hooded figure.
The suspect entered the establishment on the first day by pushing the glass door, then returned two days later by breaking the lock. Between the two crimes, the criminal stole 15 bottles of alcohol, 50 cans of beer and soft drinks, 700 euros, two mobile phones, and a point-of-sale terminal with a cash drawer.
The man was unable to access the cash register during the first robbery, so he took it with him; nevertheless, he was able to do it the second time. That night, he returned twenty minutes later to take further bottles of alcohol, as evidenced by security camera footage later examined by the National Police.
Days later, the agents identified the culprit as a 49-year-old Spaniard, and after locating him in a public location, he was taken before the courts and charged with robbery with force.
