On Sunday, February 23, a fire that started early in the morning in a residence on Calle Manuel de Falla in Alicante sent a 50-year-old man to the hospital with first and third degree burns. Emergency services were notified when the fire, whose origins are yet unknown, started at approximately 02:56.
To address the incident, the incident Information and Coordination Centre (CICU) promptly activated an SVB and a SAMU unit. Because the burns were so severe, the victim was taken to San Juan Hospital. A 71-year-old lady who was at the same residence also received treatment for smoke inhalation, but she didn’t need to be taken to the hospital.
While emergency services continue to attempt to elucidate the specifics of this occurrence that has disturbed the peace of the area in the early hours of Sunday, authorities are still looking into what caused the fire.
