On Monday, December 29th, there was a dramatic police chase in the middle of the city of Novelda, which is part of Alicante. The chase involved a pram.
Around 9:30 p.m., while a police patrol was on duty in the business sector of Avenida Jesús Navarro, it happened. While they were on patrol, supermarket employees came up to the officers and told them about a person who had allegedly stolen a number of products and was running away with them, hidden inside a babys’ pram.
The Local Police said that they found a lot of food but not basic requirements. They also said that they caught him after a brief chase and got the stolen things back. In particular, gammon, salmon and pâtés were valued at 549 euros.
Police say that the detainee, a 23-year-old man who lives in Petrer, Spain, had been convicted of similar crimes before.
